The Noble Blackhawk is a high-specification, ultra-deepwater drillship engineered for complex offshore drilling operations. Built in 2014 by Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea, the 229-metre vessel features advanced dual-derrick capabilities designed to operate in extreme marine environments, primarily serving oil and gas sectors in the Gulf of Mexico. For the first decade of its operational life, the ship sailed under the name Ocean Blackhawk as a prominent asset in the Diamond Offshore Drilling fleet. However, the vessel was officially renamed Noble Blackhawk in September 2024 following Noble Corporation’s landmark acquisition of Diamond Offshore, a transition that integrated the drillship into Noble's global fleet under the Marshall Islands flag.
