The Windea Clarke is a state-of-the-art Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) delivered by Norway's Ulstein Verft to Bernhard Schulte Offshore in July 2026. Named in honour of pioneering electrical engineer Edith Clarke, this 89-metre vessel is purpose-built to support offshore wind farm operations in the demanding environments of the North Sea. It features Ulstein’s innovative TWIN X-STERN® hull design, which drastically reduces ship motion, improves fuel efficiency, and enhances station-keeping during dynamic positioning operations. Built with a heavy focus on sustainability, the vessel operates on a low-emission hybrid battery propulsion system designed for future methanol conversion and holds a DNV SILENT-E notation for minimizing underwater noise. Optimized for logistics and crew comfort, it accommodates up to 132 personnel in premium cabins and utilizes a motion-compensated walk-to-work gangway and 3D crane to ensure safe, efficient technician and cargo transfers directly to offshore wind turbines.
