In 2022, the Internet was terribly slow, a VPN was required to get at least basic things like emails done. The mould and fungus in the AC rooms and ventilation systems were out for this world, full grown forests! Absolute health hazard! No spares provided by managers, all water pumps leaking in engine room and full coverage of diesel on the tank tops. Unacceptable! Watertight doors not working either! Food was good, accommodation huge, with too many stairs, decent facilities for gym and movies etc. Cool layout of the vessel, just poorly maintained. All this was in 2022, I hope it is better now.

Working on this ship has been one of the best offshore experiences of my career. The environment is professional, safety-focused, and well-coordinated, with excellent communication across all teams. Interdepartmental relationships are strong, with everyone working together efficiently and respectfully. It's especially impressive for diving and ROV work, with top-tier equipment and smooth operations. Cabins are quiet, clean, comfortable, and all come with attached bathrooms. The onboard Wi-Fi is reliable and fast, making it easy to stay connected with family. The food is great, with a good variety, healthy options, and attention to dietary needs. The gym is solid, well-equipped, clean, and spacious. Crew morale is consistently high, which speaks volumes about the ship’s leadership and overall working culture. Overall, a top-class vessel that sets a high standard for offshore life and subsea operations.

One of the best DSV I've ever worked on . Extremely reliable DP system for diving/ROV operation . Easy to work with bridge and deck team ! Top class in house facilities such as high speed internet , TV room with PS5 ,gym and many more !

Good experience onboard DSV Southern Star. Accomodations high class.Crew are friendly. Nice TV room, gym. Very clean and maintain hygiene.Daily cabin and washroom cleaning carry out by Stewards. Good internet for crew.
