The Seven Pegasus (IMO: 9392509) is a highly sophisticated, 131-metre Diving Support Vessel (DSV) engineered to handle intense subsea construction and deep-sea diving operations globally. Built in 2009 by the renowned Merwede Shipyard in the Netherlands and flying the Liberian flag, the vessel features an integrated saturation diving system and a high-capacity offshore crane that allow it to execute complex underwater engineering tasks. Operated by the leading offshore contractor Subsea 7—which acquired and renamed the vessel from Toisa Pegasus in 2019 it balances robust power with high structural precision, boasting a gross tonnage of 9,494 tons and a deadweight capacity of 7,800 tonnes to serve as a vital asset for major oil, gas, and renewable energy projects worldwide.

Vessel Review: Seven Pegasus DSV The Accommodation: Biohazard Class If you enjoy living in an enclosed tin can that smells like an open sewer, you’ll feel right at home. The cabins on the Seven Pegasus smell absolutely foul a stagnant blend of failing greywater plumbing, damp mildew, and pure raw sewage that seeps directly through the ventilation. Hygiene onboard feels like an afterthought. Deep cleaning seems to have been abandoned years ago; grime clings to the bulkheads, carpets feel permanently sticky, and communal areas are downright filthy. After a grueling 12-hour shift on deck or on the dive spread, the absolute last thing anyone wants is to step into living quarters that feel dirtier than the dive gear you just peeled off. Connectivity: The Stone Age Experience Calling the Wi-Fi onboard "slow" is generous—it’s practically prehistoric. * Trying to send a basic WhatsApp text message requires standing in a specific corridor holding your phone up like an antenna. * Loading an email attachment feels like dialing up in 1996. * Forget video calls home; the connection drops out the moment you think about placing one. In an era where offshore operations should prioritize basic crew welfare and mental well-being, the communication setup here isolates the crew like they're on an 18th-century whaling expedition. General Condition & Morale The vessel itself shows every bit of its age and hard miles. Constant maintenance issues, tired interiors, and a pervasive lack of care make day-to-day life onboard a grim slog. Crew morale takes an immediate hit the second you walk through the airlocks. Verdict The Seven Pegasus might have the DP system and the dive gear to tick client boxes on paper, but in terms of crew living standards and cleanliness, it is an absolute dog of a ship. Avoid signing onto a hitch here if you have any other options.
