Hebrides

The MV Hebrides is a vital infrastructure lifeline for Scotland's Western Isles, serving as a dependable Ro-Ro passenger ferry that bridges the mainland and the Outer Hebrides. Launched in 2000 by Queen Elizabeth II and entering service in 2001, the 99-metre vessel is operated by CalMac to connect Uig on the Isle of Skye with Tarbert on Harris and Lochmaddy on North Uist. Built to withstand the challenging, unpredictable weather of the Minch, she accommodates up to 612 passengers and 110 cars, featuring onboard lounges, cafeterias, and observation decks designed to provide comfort during the scenic but often turbulent crossings. As a crucial link for local island economies, commuters, and tourism, the vessel remains a highly recognizable and hardworking fixture of Scotland's maritime heritage.

Gold Ship and Crew. Officers have en-suite cabins with Master & C/E having adjoining day rooms. CPOs, POs and Ratings all have single cabins all but 4 of the cabins having ‘Jack n Jill’ washrooms shared between cabins. Large Ratings Mess separated from Officers Mess via a pantry with dumb waiter from Galley. Fairly small but decent crew gym in former MES Locker space.
