The ARGO (IMO: 7432109) was a versatile and robust Multi-Purpose Offshore Vessel that served the maritime industry for over four decades. Built in 1976 and originally launched as the Maersk Plotter, this 65-metre vessel evolved from a heavy-duty tug/supply ship into a specialised offshore support platform equipped with DP II dynamic positioning, a 35-tonne A-frame, and extensive accommodation for subsea operations. Though it concluded its long service history in 2019, its legacy of reliability remains a benchmark for the multi-purpose offshore fleet.
After a distinguished 43-year career serving the offshore industry, the ARGO was retired in 2019 and sent to the Aliaga ship-breaking yard in Turkey to be recycled and dismantled.
